PUBLIC HEALTH ENGINEERING & WATER SUPPLY DEPARTMENT

Introduction:-

Office of the Executive Engineer, PHE & WS Division Tezu District Lohit, Arunachal Pradesh.

Activities:-

• To provide adequate drinking water to the people of Lohit District.
• Nodal Agency for implementation of SBM-G, Govt of India’s Flexi programme.

Schemes/Project:-

• Presently there are no major water supply projects under this Division. However, a few village water supply schemes are to be taken up for the current financial year 2018-19 under NRDWP (100% funded by Govt of India). In addition, the division shall also undertake some water supply scheme and construction of Buildings for the newly established Superintending Engineer PHE & WS circle at Tezu taken up under SADA.
• Being the nodal agency for the implementation of SBM-G, the Department was responsible for the construction of IHHL.In the district as a result of which Lohit District has declared itself Open Defecation Free (ODF) on 18th Dec 2017. Construction of community sanitary complex and solid liquid waste management is under progress with aim of Swachh, Healthy and Prosperous Life.
