Agriculture Department, Tezu, Lohit District has been implementing all the centrally sponsored Schemes and State sponsored Schemes in the district with a prime motive for doubling of farmers income. This Department is consistently assisting individual progressive farmers and Self Help groups by imparting Farmers trainings on Technical methods of growing commercial crops and plantation Crops, Integrated Pest management, Integrated Plant nutrient management and Demonstrations on improved package and practices of growing all agriculture cereal crops, Millets, Pulses, oil Seeds and Vegetables to the Farmers. Apart from Trainings and Demonstrations, Department is distributing all kinds of Agriculture Inputs like seeds ( Hybrid Seeds, High Yielding variety Seeds) on season and time, Organic Manures, plant protection Chemicals , Farm tools and Equipments, Farm Machineries to the farmers of the district at subsidized rate. Subsidy portion may be vary from 50 percent to 100 percent as per the guidelines of the schemes.
The Department is also implementing a very important newly launched State Sponsored Scheme i.e ATMA NIRBHAR KRISHI YOJANA AND ATMA NIRBHAR PLANTATION SCHEME in the district. It is a Credit Linked subsidy Scheme. In this Scheme, Govt. subsidy is 45%,loan is 45% and farmers contribution is 10% only. Purchasing high cost Farm Machineries like Tractors and Power Tillers was very difficult and distant dream for the marginal farmers. But after implementation of this scheme, 35 Nos. farmers have procured and purchased their Tractors in the year 2021-22 and 41 tractor beneficiaries for the year 2022-23 have been selected and already sent to the concerned banks for final approval of the Loan portions. Hence, it is considered as one of the major achievement for agri Department as well as for Farmers of this district. Govt. assistance is being provided in Crop cultivation also. Further, it is to mention that more than 400 beneficiaries have benefited from this Scheme in two years by availing 45% Govt Subsidy in all components.
