The Department of Transport is not a scheme oriented department unlike some other departments of the state wherein public is directed benefitted.
In fact, it is one of the vital departments in terms of revenue collection for the govt., since the fund allocation to the state from centre govt. is based on the ratio of the quantum of funds collected by the state from its own resources mobilization. So the state govt. needs to nurture the revenue earning department of state properly if the state is to get higher funding from the centre.
